Highfields is a co-educational Sandwell school welcoming around 453 pupils aged between 4 and 11. We are fortunate to have a purpose built Nursery to enable us to offer morning or afternoon sessions to children in the year of their fourth birthday.
Our aim is to bring learning alive for the children and to make the curriculum as relevant, exciting and as stimulating as we can make it. We aim to cater for all children’s needs and recognise the fact that children learn best in different ways and at different rates. We value the strengths that each child has and develop them, providing support and encouragement along the way. We describe ourselves as a ‘can do’ school and encourage children to try hard and to do their best at all times.
In addition to intellectual development, we place great importance on developing the social skills that are crucial for children to be able to interact with other children and adults effectively. We hope to develop skills that will form a firm foundation for all future learning.
We see Education as very much a partnership between school and home. By taking the time to read this prospectus, we hope that it gives you a picture of school life including the curriculum and some of the exciting opportunities we offer the children at Highfields. It will also provide you with information about how you can support your child at home and about opportunities to become more actively involved in the life of the school if that is something you wish to do. We welcome visitors, so if you would like to make an appointment to see us, please telephone the school to make an appointment. You can be assured of a warm welcome.
