At Mount Pleasant we aim to:-

  • Achieve the highest possible standards for all in both academic and personal development.
  • Challenge every child to strive for excellence in all they do.
  • Create a climate in which all individual's contributions are valued.
  • Encourage the partnership between pupils, staff, parents, governors and the local community to promote learning.
  • Provide a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Create a stimulating learning environment for 0 – 92 years ( and beyond )
  • Encourage an enquiring attitude to life.
  • Engender respect for self, each other and society.

School Philosophy

It has been said that a teacher is a child's window to the world. Here at Mount Pleasant we work to open wide the window and in so doing extend the learning opportunities and experiences offered to every child. By employing an open door policy we aim to encourage an awareness, an interest and a tollerance of an ever changing society. The heart of the school is the community and the heart of the community is the school and it is reflected in the partnership between pupils, parents and teachers.

________________________________________________________

This school opens its doors to its local and wider community. It invests in true working partnerships with its stakeholders. This school is the focus for groups (school workforce, governors, volunteers, parents, grandparents, neighbours, business, community and outside agencies) who work closely together, for the benefit of all the children who come here.

This is a school which fosters important values which are reciprocated in the local community with pupils demonstrating respect and acceptance of the views and beliefs of others. This school prepares its children to have confidence and self-worth. They are able to socialise and interact successfully with others in the local and wider community. These children achieve highly and sustain their learning as they pass through secondary education and beyond. The children here are a life-long asset to their community as a whole.
