Welcome to Pool Hayes Community School

From 1 September 2006 Pool Hayes has been designated Specialist Status as an Arts College which has brought a big increase in resources to support exciting developments in Drama, Music Technology and Creative Technology in school, whilst also promoting these activities within the community around the school. In addition, the Specialist Status also carries with it the challenge of raising standards in subjects throughout the school.

This is an exciting time to be part of Pool Hayes and its wider community; we are able to offer even more opportunities in established areas such as Drama and Music whilst also offering new opportunities through the introduction of Technology into Music and by promoting the application of digital forms of media via Creative Technology.

As part of the terms of our Specialist Status we have also to look to meet ambitious targets for improved standards across all subjects so parents need not worry about pupils being too specialist, or specialist subjects being introduced at the expense of general standards. The best of both worlds is on offer: increased opportunities in the Arts plus a drive to raise standards further in all subjects.
