A message from the Principal Mr D Bishop-Rowe
Sutton is a purpose built day school for pupils aged 11-16 whose educational needs cannot adequately be met in mainstream schools.
Situated close to Dudley town centre, the school caters for approximately 120 pupils all of whom have a Statement of Special Educational Need and are deemed to have moderate learning difficulties.
Originally built in 1962, but significantly extended in 1997, the school has excellent facilities which include generously proportioned, well equipped classrooms, two Science laboratories, Art room, Design Technology workshop, Food Technology room, fully networked Information Technology suite, Library resource base and a fully equipped Music room.
Our vision is to provide every member of the school community with the opportunity to achieve his or her true potential and ambitions
We are an “Investors in People” organisation valuing all our staff as the most important resource the pupils have to support their learning.
The school offers its pupils a broad, balanced curriculum matched to their needs including full entitlement to the National Curriculum.
Sutton School is committed to offering a curriculum which is broadly based, relevant and differentiated to meet individual needs.
The environment we create is stimulating and challenging yet supportive, secure and caring.
Pupils are taught in an atmosphere of positive recognition where each person’s individuality and talents receive encouragement and nurture.
Everyone in the school strives to work together in a community of mutual respect regardless of race, class, colour or creed.
We endeavour to bring out the best in our pupils so that they mature into adults capable of an independent life which will be of service and benefit to their local communities.
