"Ours is a school which celebrates achievement and success."
|
We have high expectations of all of our girls and our staff.
In an environment where they are encouraged to discover for themselves what they can accomplish in all areas of school life, girls are stimulated intellectually in lessons and have access to a wide range of extra-curricular activities so that their potential is realised across a broad spectrum.
We are as ambitious for our girls as they are for themselves. More than 90 per cent of Year 13 girls go on to higher education each year and all rightly aspire to demanding and fulfilling future careers. |
The challenge is, however, balanced by sensitivity to individual needs. We stress to girls that it is their personal best which matters. We want them to believe in themselves and to have confidence in their own abilities. We want them to work towards improvement by setting their own personal targets. We also give them the opportunity to grow and develop as individuals, particularly through the increasing responsibilities they take on as they move through school. The school has a strong pastoral system based on open communication, personal interview and support. The emphasis on concern for others, particularly where behaviour in school is concerned, provides a secure environment and one which is highly conducive to learning.

The school’s purpose is to help develop happy, accomplished, articulate and confident young women who can go on to give service to the community and who are equipped to seek fulfilment in their own lives. |
