Welcome to the Fonthill Lodge School website. This year we celebrate our bicentenary, as for two hundred years children have enjoyed an excellent education at this leading independent day school. Our latest inspection report, June 2007, clearly shows that in the twenty first century we continue to provide each individual pupil with the best possible education within “a caring, inclusive and happy community in which pupils succeed academically, as well as in their personal development.” Please click here to read the ISI report in full.
To mark the two hundredth anniversary of the founding of Fonthill Lodge School , new scholarships for academic, sport, performing arts, music, art and design technology are being awarded, named after Mrs Elizabeth Shallis, the great great granddaughter of the school’s founder, who died last autumn. The Shallis Bicentennial Scholarships are open to any pupil entering Y3-5 in September 2008. The closing date for applications is January 28th and the scholarships take place on Saturday 2nd February. Please click here for more information and entry forms.
At Fonthill Lodge School we educate boys and girls from 2 to 11. Our purpose built nursery is Ofsted registered and accepts nursery vouchers (click here to read the latest nursery inspection report). Our Year 6 pupils move on to a wide range of well known senior schools, often winning scholarships. We also prepare pupils for entry to the Kent Grammar Schools. Situated in East Grinstead, Fonthill Lodge School is set in beautiful grounds and has excellent facilities.
I would be delighted to have the opportunity to meet you, to show you round Fonthill Lodge and to arrange for your child to have a taster day with us. Please click here to arrange an appointment with me, to request a prospectus or to register for our next Open Morning, on Saturday 9th of February.
As we look forward to a third century of providing an outstanding all-round education at Fonthill Lodge School , we continue to encourage excellence in whatever interests the individual pupil. We are proud of our school and our commitment to all facets of a child’s development remains central to our vision for education.
