A variety of clubs have been running for pupils in Holyrood over this session. The total attendances recorded were 4260 pupils over 230 sessions. This averaged 19 pupils per session. The activities included swimming, netball, gymnastics, volleyball, table tennis, football (for both boys and girls), cricket, rugby, dance, badminton and skiing. As well as the clubs we have many Holyrood teams competing in the fields of football, rugby, cricket, netball, gymnastics, swimming, volleyball and athletics.
Younth Games
In May a total of 150 pupils took part in the Youth Games in Scotstoun Sports Arena. The boys rugby team and the S3 football team won their competitions. The gymnastics and volleyball teams finished as runners-up. All pupils involved represented the school with distinction.
Football
All the boys football teams qualified for the playoffs in the Glasgow League or Dup. Mr Carroll’s first year team won through to the Scottish Cup semi-final but narrowly missed out on the final. The user-15 boys added to their success in the Youth Games by winning the West of Scotland Regional Championship Cup.
Rugby
Mr Clarke’s Rugby team finished a great year by winning the Cartha Sevens Tournament. A great achievement added to their success at the Youth Games. This is a team to watch next year! |
